Another Fun Holiday Idea!

Here's another fun holiday project! I filled Ziploc Snack Size bags with red hots (sometimes called cinnamon imperials) and folded this label over the top. Two staples, and you're done!

Fun and Easy Christmas Gifts!

I have been having fun making these labels with my Creative Memories software (StoryBook Creator Plus). I did a custom size that would fit over a Ziploc Snack Size bag. I put mini marshmallows in the bag, sealed it, and then stapled this label on the top. They are too cute!

Celebrate Your Holiday Traditions

Don't forget to scrapbook your family's holiday traditions! Here are some questions to get you thinking:
  • Do you eat special foods during the holiday season?
  • Do you visit craft fairs?
  • Do you take trips to see family?
  • Do you watch holiday performances?
  • Do you volunteer?
  • What's on your wish list this year?
  • What religious services do you attend?
  • How do you decorate?
  • Do you attend parties?

Hopefully this list will get you thinking about those things that we do each year but somehow go unscrapbooked. And, this year, you can remember to include some of them as you celebrate the season.

Enlarge Your Photos

When I started digital scrapbooking, it was incredibly easy to make a photo the size of the entire page. It really draws attention to the page! The page above is an example of this. You can do this in traditional scrapbooking by enlarging a photo you want to emphasize and doing your titles and journaling right on top of it.

I'm creating custom photo mugs at http://www.cmphotocenter.com/!

The CM Photo Center has lots of ready-made designs that you just drop photos into, but I wanted to design my own. So, I chose the "custom" option and got busy in my StoryBook Creator Plus software from Creative Memories. The digital papers I used are from the Earthy Power Palette. The photos were clashing a bit, so I made them all sepia-toned. I hope you like it! Here is the one I made for my father-in-law:

I used the same photos, just changed out the background paper. I found the fishing rod and lure as clip art online and used the Magic Wand tool in the StoryBook Creator Plus software to remove the white bits around the edges. I can't wait to see the finished mugs! The Photo Center is having a sale through tomorrow evening, so I wanted to get the projects done today.

Fun Digital Scrapbooking Technique

I've been making digital scrapbooks with Creative Memories' StoryBook Creator Plus software. (You can purchase it at www.mycmsite.com/jenniferkeller.) I learned this fun technique by watching the webinars in the Help Zone on my site.

In a nutshell, I:

  1. Made a rectangle the shape and size I wanted for the photo.

  2. Created the text ("CAMPING") using a fat font.

  3. Centered the rectangle and text and made sure they were touching.

  4. Grouped the two elements together.

  5. Flattened the newly created element.

  6. Chose a photo and filled the element with the photo.

It's a fun way to make a dramatic title!
